Welcome to Tawa Football Club

Tawa AFC is a football club located in the Wellington suburb of Tawa and affiliated to Capital Football, a federation member of New Zealand Football.  

The club has both a 'Seniors' and 'Juniors' focus.  Our Senior club runs Mens and Womens teams from Under 17 through to Masters.

Tawa Junior Football looks after the junior side of the club for both boys and girls.  We offer a First Kicks programme for 4-6 year olds, Fun Football for 7-8 year olds, Mini Football for 9-12 year olds, Youth Football for 13-14 year olds and Girls Only leagues for girls aged 6-15.

The winter season for junior football will commence on the weekend of Saturday, 18th April 2015.

Senior Training 2015

Training will begin for 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams on Tuesday 13 January at 6.30pm at Grenada North 4 and every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter.

Other men’s grades and ladies will train on Wednesday evening and commencement dates will be advised later.

New members are very welcome to attend.

Junior Players - Term 1 2015 Summer Skills Sessions

Timetable for Term 1 Summer Skills is as follows. The age grades relate to the age the player will be in 2015:

Mon 4.00pm to 5.00pm - 7th grade
Mon 5.00pm to 6.00pm - 9th grade
Mon 6.00pm to 7.00pm - 12th grade
Tue 3.45pm to 4.45pm - 6th grade
Tue 4.45pm to 5.45pm - 11th grade
Wed 4.00pm - 5.00pm - 8th grade
Wed 5.00pm to 6.00pm - 10th grade
Wed 6.00pm to 7.00pm - 13th/14th Streamed
Thu 3.45pm to 4.45pm - Girls Only 7 - 10 years
Thu 4.45pm to 5.45pm 13th/14th grade

Starts: Programmes start week of 2nd February
Cost: $63.00 for 9 weeks 
Location: Grenada North indoor training room
What to bring: boots, shin guards, drink bottle
Coaches: Sam Morrissey and Adam Reynard

NEW TAWA AFC CENTRAL LEAGUE COACH FOR 2015

Tawa AFC is delighted to announce that Jose Quijada has accepted the position of Coaching Director at the club.  Jose arrived in New Zealand from Chile 14 years ago with a an excellent playing record including having played for the Chile U23 team before beginning  a coaching career in Chile, gaining his professional coaching licence. 

He has travelled regularly overseas gaining his UEFA B licence together with an English International coaching licence.  While in New Zealand Jose has coached at Western Suburbs, Miramar and Wellington United as well as a variety of age group teams. We look forward to Jose spreading his experience to our players and coaches.

Tawa AFC attains New Zealand Football Quality Club Mark

Tawa Football Club and Greytown Junior Football Club are the latest two clubs of only twelve nationwide who have attained the New Zealand Football Quality Club Mark.

The Quality Club Mark initiative aims to promote continual improvement in the way football is delivered and to support clubs as they adopt standards of best practice.  C
